How We Rank

Four criteria, weighted by what guests actually mention in feedback: view quality, space that earns its price, service touchpoints, and sleep quality. Every category below has hosted at least a dozen of our guests — this is field data, not a brochure rewrite. Current rates for all categories are on the pricing page.

The Ranking

1. Astral Penthouse ($1,250/night). 120 square metres, a terrace that reframes the city, butler service. It is not 'worth it' in any spreadsheet sense — it is simply the best room in Brisbane, and for milestone trips nothing else competes. 2. Grand King Suite ($690/night). The workhorse of luxury: separate lounge, club access, guaranteed high floor. Our most rebooked category for stays over three nights.

3. Deluxe River Room ($420/night). The value play — same river, same bed quality, smaller footprint. Couples on a first visit should start here. 4. City-view categories. Perfectly pleasant, but you are paying five-star rates without the five-star view; we book them only when the river side is exhausted.

Timing Tricks That Matter

Book the Penthouse midweek in February and the price drops by a fifth; book it on a December Saturday and it sells out anyway. The Grand King responds well to 21-day advance booking. And the single most reliable upgrade path we see: book Deluxe through our suite booking service, arrive as a known guest, and let us request the move — it succeeds more often than any loyalty-tier trick.

The One-Line Answer

First visit, couple, three nights? Deluxe River Room. Anniversary or a deal to celebrate? Grand King Suite. Once-in-a-lifetime? Astral Penthouse, midweek, sunset arrival. Send your dates through the concierge desk and we will tell you which of these your trip actually is.
